Banff and Macduff Christmas Lights are a registered charity: SC049684 (also known as Deveron Community Christmas Association - (DCCA).
Our aim is to fill the communities of Banff and Macduff with Christmas lights over the festive season.
We are responsible for the all the lamp post motifs along many roads in Banff and Macduff, the displays at Banff and Macduff primary schools as well as the lights at Macduff Gleaner & The Wood Shop in Macduff. We are the only charitable Christmas lights group in Banff and Macduff. Note that the tree, lights and event in Low Street, Banff is run by a group called Banff Plainstones Christmas Cracker.
Our activities include fundraising, maintaining and building the Christmas lights and most importantly putting up a display which can be enjoyed by everyone at Christmas time.Â
Our volunteers put in hundreds of hours per year, fixing and maintaining lights. We are also very lucky to have a very talented volunteer who can build custom lights designed by the students of Banff and Macduff primary schools. This community spirit allows us to keep our spending low, any funds we raise goes towards improving our display which is one of the largest in Aberdeenshire.
As a registered charity, we are completely transparent and are also audited with regards to our spending. We appreciate the continued support of our local community and hope this continues, thank you!
